How Can I Flat Tow My Truck?

  1. Position your Silverado to be towed in a forward direction behind your towing vehicle
  2. Attach your Silverado securely
  3. Apply parking brake, start the engine, and shift into Neutral
  4. Shift transfer case into Neutral
  5. Make sure transfer case is in Neutral by ensuring you cannot engage Reverse or Drive with your transmission
  6. While transmission is in Drive, turn your ignition to Accessory
  7. Shift your transmission into Park
  8. Remove negative battery cable from your Silverado's battery
  9. Cover your battery terminal with a nonconducting material
  10. Verify the steering column is unlocked
  11. Release your parking brake
  12. Leave key in ignition
